- A set of NOTCHED glass plates consists of
one rectangular piece of glass plus another piece
of the same size with a cut made on the top edge leaving
two "ears", one on each corner*.
- A set of UN-NOTCHED glass plates consists
of two rectangular pieces of the same width. One of
the plates is 2.0cm shorter than the other. These
plates should use rubber ears (sold separately, see
below)
- A set of BEVELED glass plates is a notched
set where the glass is cut at a 45° angle between
the "ears".

All notched glass plates are cut from 4½ mm stock.
Most rectangular glass plates, including un-notched
plates are cut from 3.0 mm stock except the 8-1/8"
x 18-1/2", 20cm x 80cm, 35cm x 43cm, 35cm x 50cm,
and 35cm x 60cm which are cut from 4½ mm stock. When
ordering, give the catalog number of the apparatus
that the glass plates are going to be used with, notched
or un-notched (plain), set or single piece, or give
the actual width and length you want the plates to
be. GLASS PLATES CAN BE CUT TO USER SPECIFICATIONS.
On custom plates, mention the depth and width of the
notch.
* 10.6cm wide plates have 12mm
wide x 12mm long ears. 16.5cm wide and 17.0cm wide
plates have 15mm x 15mm ears. All other notched plates
have 18mm x 18mm ears.
